Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

It’s definitely wintertime in Sydney with all of the roasting of vegetables I’ve been doing lately. Today it was pumpkin. In small doses people on a SIBO diet should be able to tolerate pumpkin. Yeah, good news for us! If you roast up and puree a pumpkin, it’s easy to throw several different meals together that are delicious, nutritious and SIBO friendly.

Here’s my take on a pumpkin spice smoothie:

1/2 cup pureed pumpkin

1/2 banana, frozen

1 cup almond milk

1/2 tsp turmeric

1/2 tsp ginger

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp vanilla

3 ice cubes

  1. Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth.

*Optional add ins:

1 scoop collagen – if using for gut healing.

1 serving or protein powder to make this a more substantial meal.
