Savoury Breakfast Bowl


I love “bowls” at any time of the day. I love the assortment of different foods coming together in small portions to make one fabulous dish. I love the variety and I love the flavour. I guess I’m just full of love and gratitude for healing foods. I’m also a big advocate of savoury food for brekkie as opposed to the traditional sweet “western” breakfast. On a SIBO restricted diet we are allowed a fixed quantity of fruits and the smallest amount of sweetener but from what I’ve discovered the more I abstain from these foods, the better I feel. And for a small tip, if you tend to have sugar cravings later in the day, forego sweets in the morning  – then you can have a small bowl of berries or a banana in the evening and nip it in the bud.

1/4 cup baba ganoush

1/2 cup canned lentils

1/4 – 1/2 cup quinoa

10 kalamata olives

1/4 avocado, sliced

1 cup rocket

1/2 capsicum, sliced and chopped

5 walnuts, broken

1 tsp olive oil

juice of half a lemon

Sprinkle of cumin and dill or whatever seasoning you prefer

salt and pepper to taste
